Market Analyst

Location: Malaysia

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

A. Revenue

Provides direct support to the manager in achieving of the Product Groups revenue budget, through maximizing the revenue opportunities of existing and new client base

Identify all viable revenue opportunities and manage development of the related Product Groups

Support the manager to ensure client agreement renewals are planned on time where required

Support the manager on key proposals related to clients as and when required

B. Data Quality

Develop an understanding of Retail Audit Methodology and GfK Systems

Build market and product knowledge on all related products and panels

Gathering all information necessary to undertake data reconciliation

Conducting monthly data quality checking, for specific Product Groups

Ensure calls to client contacts are made following monthly data quality checking, utilising market knowledge to provide early, pre-report market information

Highlighting of potential coding errors found to the respective Field Manager to enable corrections to be made to maintain high level of data accuracy

Whenever needed, recruit organized retailers who are important to

the panel quality

C. Client Servicing

Ensure client queries are responded to professionally and accurately within 24 hour response rate

Ensure high level of client servicing, through management or support, on relevant products

Prepare and present GfK reports to clients and at meetings on request

Working closely with regional colleagues to successfully co-ordinate the development and service of current and potential clients

Maintenance of all client information within the CRM system are input on a monthly basis to ensure records are fully up to date and factual

D. Retail Servicing

Working with RS team to maintain a consistent servicing schedule with all retailer partners

Co-ordinate with other Client Service or Retail Service personnel on specific presentations where his or her specific expertise is required

E. Support

Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues

Provide support to team members to increase workplace efficiency

Assist the team members with custom reports requested by clients


Good relationship building skills (internal, external, and cross-cultural)

Problem solving skills

Sound analytical skills and the ability to interpret research data accurately

Sound computer skills, especially in the areas of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Specific Qualifications:

Degree level, preferably in a business/marketing field, sound computer skills especially in the areas of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Experience working within the Office, TELCO, IT, Home, Health and Lifestyle industry at trade or retail channel level

Candidate should preferably have at least 1-3 years working experience, preferably within customer focused environment

Own car and willing to travel within Klang Valley area and some light regional travelling

Computer literate and can work independently
