Job Description:

The job is the first in relation to a new project being undertaken by the company. The envisaged project is a chain of small to medium sized corner stores dealing in grocery and household provisions located in and around high income residential areas.

As is evident from the stage of the project, the selected candidate will be expected to plan the project out with the higher management. Chalking out all details of the first phase where 5 pilot outlets are expected to be opened, with regards to finalizing and sourcing of product lines, team building, shop location research, shop acquisition, shop setup, systems development, start up and finally overseeing the running of the completed project.

The required candidate is expected to be inducted as the first person in a process that will eventually result in the creation of a team and a new business. It is therefore expected that a lot of hands on learning will follow as the project moves into different stages. He will be expected to build a team around the requirements and at the end will need to be capable of overseeing the running project. The position offers great room for growth for the right candidate as it moves from a planning stage to the running project. It hence requires a manager who is not shy of tackling things hands on in the beginning and also capable of growing with the project and heading the team in the final scenario.

- Should be capable of creative and result oriented approach in setting up a new concept in retailing as described above.

- Be self motivated and capable in assisting in team development for the said project.

- Will be required to do market assessment for planning efficient and precise product ranges for such a retail concept.

- Will be expected to put together market information regarding sourcing of product lines along with finalizing terms of business with suppliers.

- Should be able to handle all aspects of the setting up stage along with a team buildup as and when required i.e. target locality identification, demarcation of premises for shops, setting up of shops pertaining to fixtures, hardware, shop build up, systems implementation etc.
