Job Description:

-Provide technical assistance to the Social Welfare and Women Dev. Department (SWWAD) - AJ&K for development and adoption of CEDAW Action Plans at AJ&K level.

-Support the SWWAD in capacity assessment and in strengthening Rules of Business (ROBs) for SWWAD.

-Support SWWAD towards enhancing capacity based on capacity assessment.

-Support SWWAD in developing program and strategy for CEDAW implementation and implementation of GE commitments, including developing strategic linkages and partnerships, and coordinating interventions in AJ&K; also interdepartmental linkages on GE.

-Support SWWAD in developing a gender strategy for AJ&K.

-Support SWWAD in gender analysis of development frameworks.

-Support SWWAD in advocacy efforts with parliamentarians and establishing a resource centre for women parliamentarians.

-Initiate and implement institutionalization of GE as a cross-cutting theme in all planning and implementation processes of AJ&K government in collaboration with P&DD and SWWAD.

-Ensure strengthening of inter-departmental process for CEDAW implementation through coordination with key line departments including P&DD, Human Rights, and other stakeholders.

-Ensure involvement of civil society in CEDAW implementation, monitoring and reporting process.
