Job Description:

The World Health Organization in Pakistan in association with the Ministry of Health, Government of Pakistan invites applications from legal consultants for reviewing the existing legislation governing the medical professional councils. The consultant will be expected to suggest and draft improvements to the existing legislative instructions, propose the feasibility of any additional specialized bodies for the regulation of allied health professionals and/or an umbrella council for health care profession regulators.

The part-time assignment is expected to be completed under supervision during 3 months from 1st October 2009 till 31st December 2009.

The consultant should be an Advocate of the High Court or Supreme Court with at least 5 years experience in drafting of legislation. A sound knowledge of the Pakistan’s Health System and experience of health legislation will be highly preferred.
